I have been looking for these bags in which I could put my top off water to drip into my tank anyone have any experience using them and where can I purchase them?
I was going to use it for my 5 1/2 gallon nano. My evap is roughly 1/4 gallon per day. I wasn't sure what the actual bag sizes were and if they were even useful for this kind of application.
FWIW i have access to all kinds of drip bags for IV's, dont bother. What you need is the drip line for the bag itself. I took a cheapo rubbermaid 1 gal container and spiked it with the part that goes into the IV bag, no silicone, no nothing. Works like a charm and is infinitely adjustable. I work in a hospital so finding them is easy. I suggest an online med supply store or a bribe to your local hospital employee. BTW they are dirt cheap. The IV bag itself would be a huge PITA to refill, etc...
I use a regular gallon jug of RO/Milk whatever and glued a fitting from an airstone, air tube and valve !! Works great for me... drip, drip, drip... But if you insist on the IV bag, I'm sure any local Medical Supply will carry them.
After using an IV bag for a trial run in dosing kalk, (I got mine used from a friend in healthcare) I'd have to say that they are a bit too small for my 75g. I like ReefGuide's idea, not only for the larger capacity but because it allows the drain fitting to be slightly above the very bottom of the container. It just seems like an extra safeguard to keep particles from slipping into the Sump.
