Help adjusting Berlin skimmer

I just put a Berlin HO on my 40 gal. I am using a little giant 4-mdq-sc pump capable of 810 gal/hr. I have a ball valve on the output to adjust the flow into the skimmer. I can't seem to find a flow/air setting that isn't making massive amounts of tiny bubbles in the tank. My corals are hating me because of the bubbles! Anyone have experience with this skimmer? Any suggestions?? I have the air turned off right now and I really need to get it turned back on. Thanks for any advice you may be able to give.
