have an Ampmaster 3000 on a closed loop.

two 1.5" intakes and outputs to two static 1.5" 45s and to 2-3/4" seawswirls with y adapters. I have to throttle back on the 1.5" intakes to get any output on the seaswirls but now the ampmaster started making a chirping noise unless i open the 1.5" outputs up a little more again. But then that defeats the seaswirls.

Is there a fix for the chirping noise? do i need to oil something?

Baalz, have you checked the seal? Please don't shoot the messenger but the Ampmaster 3000 has got serious seal problems.

I'm a little confused :? Why do you have to throttle back the intake to get output on the SS's? You should never restrict the pump on the intake side.

BTW, I just replaced the Seal on my 18 month old AM3K. If yours is an older model it may have the older seals.

Baalz, I agree with what Golfish said, never throttle back the intake.
The seal :( , its located where the shaft from the motor enters the output portion of the pump. If it is going bad you should notice a build up of salt etc... on the shaft in this area. The original seals used for these pumps did not have the correct tension and therefore they wear out easily. I changed mine out a few months back replacing it with the new seal. Dolphin gives you the option of sending the pump back and having them replace it, or sending you a seal and you can replace it yourself.
