I currently have a Percula clown fish in my 75g reef. We have had him for 3.5 years. Can I add a second percula clown or will there be fighting amongst the older one?

Thanks.

as long as you add another perc, they will fight to establish dominance. Then the will leave each other alone. Try and get a new fish that is about the same size as your old one.

If you put a different species (maroon, clarkii, ect) they will probably fight to death, unless they decide to take up quarters at opposite ends of the tank.

If your current percula clownfish has been living without any other clownfish for 3.5 years, it is most likely a female. Try to find another percula clownfish that is smaller than your current clown. Two large female clowns close to the same size will often fight to the death. After initial dominance issues, your current clown will probably eventually accept another smaller percula clown.
