Ok guys. Help me out here. I got a 125 gallon with about 90lbs LR. Lots of soft corals. Two SPS corals and a clam. Have a Red sea sail fin tang, 2 clowns, 1 cleaner fish, and an anthia. Had a sixline wrasse but he decided he wanted to try a new sport called Carpet Surphing. I need suggestions of other fish I can put in my tank. OTher schooling fish other than green chromis', and fish that wont look at my clam/softies and say hmmmmm goodie.

HELP ME OUT.......

Well, plenty, most species of goby can go into your tank, so do firefish, small fairy wrass species, pseudochromis, or batfish.

I have a coral beauty which is everyone else's favourite, but pygmy angels can sometimes pick on polyups so they are risky.

I also have a sunrise dottyback which is my favourite, but dottys can only be kept 1 to a tank so make sure you pick which one you want the first time.

Great suggestions guys. Will look into those. If I get a Dottyback will make sure I only get one. Never actually thought about getting a firefish, they are cool. Had a Coral Beauty in there at one time, had to get rid of him he was taking nips out of my corals(what little I have) Anybody know of any schooling fish other than Green Chromis'. I have seen some but for the life of me I cant remember where I saw them.

Ok here is my list of candidates.

1 Gold Watchman Goby
2 FireFish
1 SixLine Wrasse
1 Brazilian Royal Gramma
2 Bangai Cardinals
5 Green Chromis'

How is this list. Can I put all of these in my 125. Will there be any problems as far as fish getting along. What do you guys think.

-Your list looks good to me with one exception. I have had no luck keeping more than one Firefish/tank due to fighting.

if you're gonna go with banggai's-(they can be aggresive to one another)and you have the luxury of picking from a bunch-try getting two that have different jaw sizes and dorsal spikes at the same body size-maximizes male and female possibility- two males will prob'ly fight, and one will lose. you may be happier with more than two on the fire gobies-(try to get a look, if you know anyone, at a group of a half dozen in a large tank!) also-
one of my most highly recommended-the neon dottyback!!-more than one is possible(easy),and they help eat FIREworms(pers. obs.) :D

Thanks for the tip on the Cardinals. Think I may get one, and increase the amount of the Firefish. Are you saying I should get the neon dottyback instead of the Royal Gramma? Or get them both? I thought these two species would not get along in a closed environment?

Don't get more than one firefish. Both Nemeteleotris decora and N. magnifica tend to kill one another unless you luck onto a mated pair. The neon dottyback, Psuedochromis aldabraensis, will most likely terrorize some of your fish, a better selection may be the sunrise dottyback, P. flavivertex if you are looking at dottybacks.

Cruzan277-compatibility is always a loaded question-no, i would not suggest you mix the gramma w/the neon, and my recommendations are not(of course) guaranteed or set in stone- alot has to do with the individual fish.i kept the neon dotty in a 36 bowfront with a coral beauty,a mated maroon pair,a 'pacific eel goby'(wild looking fish), yellow tail blue devil, and inverts.the dotty in a larger tank should, at the worst do the occasional chase that most fish do from time to time-grammas hide a bit more, as a rule, which also led to my recommendation(green lantern, and spc, thanx for the tip about the firefish,i was not aware).-by the way, 'marine fish and reef usa' 2001 annual issue has a fairly decent breakdown of the dottyback complex group, with general behavior guidelines.-look into the fridmani in addition to the sunrise-they're all really nice lookin'.six lines is nice-luck :D
