Is there any thing out there that will eliminate or recycle the waste water from an RO/DI? I hate just putting it down the drain.

Well, you can drain it out into your lawn or a planter. There is no device that makes the waste water disappear. Only way is to think up clever ways to make it useful (like watering something).

On another note, put a water valve on the water input side. Normally RO/DIs waste water 24/7, in which I think is stupid, so putting a valve on it will turn the RO/DI off along with the 24/7 draining when not in use.

hi.
I guess a lot of people have a defective auto shut off valve (ASO valve). That's why it seem to run 24/7. If everything is working properly, no valve is needed for the input side to shut it off.

What brand name is your RO, Chaos?

Actually, I think most people place the valve on the WRONG side of the RO... the outlet side. You must have it on the input line to be effective.

I run my water thru tubing out the front of the house and into the garden, it has 10' of extra line hanging out of the house so it can be moved from bush to bush and not waste the water. Garden loves it.

hi.
I drain the brine into a reservior, and just dip the watering can into the reservior to get a gallon of it out at one time. I am in the process of setting up a reservior with a drain. Then I can just attach a garden hose to the drain, and let gravity do the work.

hi.
For RO, it is usually between 3 to 4 gallon per gallon output. For DI, there is no waste water (one gallon in, one gallon out).
