i am set up a new tank (100 G) (5ft long, 22 inches high, and 18inches wide). Now i filled up half of the tank with water and salt. I am going to get about 240lbs of sugar size sand ( brand "Pure Aragonite") this weekend. After i put the sand in, when i can seed some live sand (how many lbs?), put live rock, and turn on the light?

About the sand, anyone used it before?

About the light, I plan to buy the 48 inches (AB fixture) with 2 X 250 HQI plus two PCs. i wonder to know that will the tank look nice? The fact is that the fixture is only 48 inches and the tank is 60 inches long. So it side has a shortess of 6 inches.

Please give your opinions. Thanks in advance.

i just finished setting up a 5 X18 X24 tall Oceanic RR 110GA using sand from them. I used only 160pds. which gave me about a 4-5 in depth. Make sure you place a plastic bag on top of dry sandand then put a big bowl down on the bag covering sand in tank and drop water into bowl which will gracefully flow into tank. After doing this my tank was clear for rockwork...no cloudiness. Nice sand......good luck
