This is kinda a two part question:
A) If you've taken on Caulerpa racemosa in your display tank and conquered it, please I want to hear from you.....How did you do it?

and

B) How do you prevent Caulerpa from entering your system on LR? I've ordered LR which appeared completely 'naked' and several months later it's loaded with Caulerpa....I despise the stuff....

You suck. I can't get any algae to grow at all. :?

FWIW, try a tang, they'll go through most varieties of caulerpa.

hi.
I have C. racemosa, and conquered it. My purple tang just nips on them, but don't really do much. I have the tang for about a year, and never fed it.

During the Xmas break, the chiller for the office tank broke, and all the C. racemosa disappeared when I got back to work last week. All the SPS coral (except the porite (Xmas tree worm rock) are doing great and an orange M. digitata, which is badly bleached). but the T. derasa and all fishes are fine.

So turn off the chiller for a few days, and that should take care of them.

Actually I have one Purple Tang, and he won't touch the stuff.

I have a 125 gallon tank with a 30 gal fuge and a 25 gal sump. I have spaghetti algae (Chaetomorpha) in fuge, along with some Ulva and Gracilaria, and I've got the Caulerpa scourge in the main tank.

I've had a purple tank in my tank since I got the tank (3 years ago). When I started to break down the tank and sold the tang I noticed Caulerpa growing from various places in the tank. I guess the tang was taking care of it.

I tried to grow caulerpa in my sump when I first set it up. I also did not have any luck. So I gave up. My tank was very clean back then. My tank isn't clean now. I have been skimmerless for 2 years and don't do a lot of water changes (maybe once every other month). So my conclusion is that Caulerpa (feather and grape) like dirty water.

I had a beautiful clump growing for a while in the main display, but then I added a rabbitfish...end of story for the caulerpa. If you want to get rid of it, I'd say the rabbitfish is the answer to your prayers.(Siganus virgatus)

I skim heavily. I couldn't grow it for anything. When I first put in the Euroreef, it sucked the algae right out of the overflows.....
