the allmighty, allpowerfull, chiller??? need some advice?

Hi all!

I am gonna pop for a chiller now that the wife gave the go ahead. I have two in mind. I have a 90g AGA RR with 4 55w Pc's and 2 175w MH's.

Both chillers would be 1/5th HP

the CSL powercooler or the Aquamedic chiller series.

I am leaning toward the aquamedic. it is sleek and quiet.... the CSL is also the known as the chainsaw at the LFS.....

any suggestions would be great....

both will sound like chainsaws over time... just locate them either in crawlspace or externally to reduce the noise....just provide either one with adaquate air flow

i will have to agree about the CSL powercooler. a friend has a 1/3 HP on a 4ft 135 with 4x400w halides and although it gets the job done it is entirely too loud for my tastes. im using a 1/3 HP aqualogic on my 180 (3x250wMH and 4x96w actinic) and it keeps the temperature right at 80 even on the hottest and most humid of VA summer days operation of the aqualogic is extremely quiet, and i would definitely recommend it. i havent seen anyone carrying the aquamedic series in the states; where did you find them for sale?

the aquamedic series is sold by aquamedic alone. we had a rep come into the LFS. We have one in stock. it seems well built and is very quiet.

i have never seen an aqualogic in use. where can i find them ionline and how much do they run?

is a 1/5 enought for my 90g. I have only used bigger chillers. never a small one.
