Panther Grouper Death -- Open-Mouth-Disease -- What is it!?

My dad and I just recently had a Panther Grouper in his Fish Only tank (which is being transitioned slowly to include low-light corals)

We had this guy alive and doing well, eating silversides and brine shrimp for about 6-8 weeks.

Then for about 36 hours he kept his mouth open and was displaying his gills and wasn't really swimming around as much as usual...

No obvious dots/spots or other body damage...

Any ideas?

He had gill infection and died.
Panther grouper chnage from beautiful and cute babies to a HUGE ugly adults that eat evrything else. They produce so much waste that they are not compatable with corals. They shoudn't be keep in home Aquarium. Please make sure you know what they look like in about 1 years before you buy an other one.
