Hi all,
I have a red macro algea in my reef.I recently took out all the LR and scraped this stuff off with a screw driver rinced the rock off and put back in the reef.I thought I got it all but its slowly starting to come back.I have never seen this stuff before. Its so strong you can pick up a large rock with it.It even stays alive in the dark!!!!I put some of the rock in my sump (2 months ago) and its still on the rock. Its thin runners that atach to the rock and it has small leaf looking ends.Anyone have a natural control for this stuff?????I have tried sally lightfoot crabs to no avail.

nothing wrong with it.
It'll keep your nitrates down.

If your worried about it.
Once your tank gets cycled..throw a Yellow Tang on there.
He'll keep it nice and trimmed up.

But..I highly advise doing it till it has cycled.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply tank is 10 years up and running not cycling. The reason I want this stuff out is that it was overgrowing corals and looks bad.Have you seen yellow tangs eat this type of algea?
