What is this pickling stuff and how does it work? I saw that Deadfish posted about using this instead of Kalkwasser (if I understood correctly) and that it was cheap to purchase at Walmart. He posted on the topic of getting ripped off buy LFS.

They are the same thing. Kalkwasser is German for chalk water, but both are calcium hydroxide. Generally speaking, pickling lime is food quality and safe for making limewater used in reef tanks.
