I am trying out the aquamedic chiller. it is nice but, it sounds like the thinkg is filling with water all of the time. is there a chiller break in period.....?
i think it worked itself out. the unit filled with water and after about an hour stopped the slushing noise. i quess there was air in the thing.
the unit is quiet. but still sound like a chiller. Here is a link to it.... www.aqua-medic.de then go the the chillers and it is the titan series. I have 1/5th H/P rated for 135g.....
Just out of curiosity, does it say anywhere that you have read just how loud they are. I have a Teclima chiller that is advertised as the quietest available at 42 decibels, but must admit that it is much louder than I expected. Both chillers look very similar, although the AquaMedic one looks a little better styled. If anyone is interested, here is a link: http://www.superskimmer.com/Teclima.htm
I got the Model 240, which seems to have very similar specs. I like having a heater chiller combo, and my only complaint is the noise. BTW, they are all black now, and I paid $899 for mine somewhere else.
no it doesnt say how loud it is. but after hearing numerours chillers on the market. i will have to say this is the quietest i have seen. It still makes a decent humm in the house thought. I have tile floors and the unit has rubber feet.....
I put a small fan to help vent the rear of the unit, I have kind of close to a wall....
