Terry

Would love to hear of your experiences of keeping large Angels in a Reef Setup. James Weissman kindly informed me that you have experience with regard to same.

Am soon to break down curent 6' setup and get new 8' setup up and running.

Have read that Euxiphipops Navarchus is kept successfully with SPS, LPS and some Soft Corals.

Have you kept this spp. and what are your experiences with it , Coral polyp feeder, Hard, Soft ? Both ? LPS ? Shrimps ?

Obviously would decimate sponge population, but will have connected Refugium/Seagrass setup to culture same.

Any other issues, as in compatability with Centropyge spp. ?

Is it essential to get one in its juvenile form to try and " train " it to accept prepared foods, as opposed to decimating corals ?

Any other experiences ?

Picked up this Ref: on F.F.Express

Here !

Thanks

Brian.

Hello Terry,

can I have more info about keeping angels and triggers in a reef tank...

I love Odonus Niger and I would like to know if he isn't destructive in a reef...it is actually the first time I see this strange coabitation in captivity.

I own a 275 gallons reef tank with macroalgae refugium connected to the sump, that you can see at this address:
http://digilander.libero.it/tropicalree ... io1150.htm

Is there any chance to have more info and see more pictures about the your tank?

Thanks a lot,

Gleam,

You have a beautiful tank: perhaps we could feature it one month.

Niger triggers are good reef tank fish: they are planktivores. With angelfish you take a chance: many will eat soft and fleshy corals.

Hi Terry,

thanks for the compliments and the offer of feature my tank, I certainly would be very happy about it!

Now I have some new stuff added to it, and some old taken away, like the giant stichodactyla I had for 5 years in my past 270 gallons tank that exploded last year!

I really think most of the anemones should be avoided in reef dysplayes.

At least now I do not have my hands in every day to move the anomne from the corals!

Let me know when you would like to publish something about it...I will make some new digital shots and email them to you.

If you would like I can write something about reefkeeping in Italy...

Before finishing my reply, I would like to ask you if then you think I can insert an Odonus niger in my tank.

Planktivorous means that he eats plants or plankton?
:?:

Thanks for you patience,

Gleam

Gleam,

Assuming you don't have too many producers of waste, fish for example, to maintain water quality then adding a niger trigger would not be a problem.
I would be interested in reef keeping in Italy. Write to me at,

Terry,
Have the same curiosity about how you keep the Majestic and the Trigger and the Tuskfish w/o problems... has your tank been featured anywhere else on the web. I really enjoy reading and gaining wisdom from the more experienced aquarists out there. Thanks for a great read! Joe.
