oil based paint

i have oil based paint on my hood that i thought was safe cause its not in the tank but water from the air stone splashing etc does cause some water to get on it and then drip back into the tank...is this bad? Its oilbased so will it not leach chemicals into the water? help

to protect my lights i installed a piece of plexi glass under them to keep splashes off of them. i just wipe them down once or twice a week.

Just remove the air stone and get a hang-on skimmer for oxygen.
