OK, got a 200 gall RR. Bulkheads only seem to accept plumbing on the inside threads of the Bulkheads. Which come out to 1" on the Drain lines and 3/4 on the return lines. Is this right? Seems like I could use bigger plumbing if it threaded on the outside, but nothing seemed to fit.
Was going to run 1" return plumbing to a 2X 3/4 T. It is on an Iwaki 40, will this restrict any water flow??

welcome to the club.. I got fooled the 1st time too.. and yes you are correct.. the only pipe thread on bulk heads are the inside threads.. however you can use fllexible tubeing and a hose clamp if you'd like to use the OD..

The outside threads are for the "nut" that holds the bulkhead to the tank, only. IME those aren't standard pipe tap sizes so your probably SOOL on finding an adapter  If I understand you, the drain from the tank has a 1" threaded bulkhead and the returns back into the tank are 3/4" threaded bulkheads. If your pump has a 1" outlet to the tank then you want to use AT LEAST 1" piping from the pump output as close as you can to the 3/4" bulkheads then tee off there with short pieces of 3/4" to make your connections. Also, don't forget unions and ball valves to allow you to disconnect/remove/replace things without draining the tank. JMO.

I got the ball valves and quick unions and LOWES. I dont think they have had many people from our area "plumb" a fish tank. Thanks for all your guys help, just wanted to use the biggest Diameter i could, at least on returns.

Just run the return plumbing outside up the back of the tank. Its easier to deal with anyway, and you can use the3/4 line for an additional drain line or for making water changes etc.
