Kill'n a mushroom, easy???

I just recieved a frag of a mushroom and while triing to situate it I think I tore it around the "mouth", or the snails did it last night, but when I woke up this morn it was in the sand in the bottom of my tank. When I picked it up I noticed the tear.

Is this fatal or are they that hardy? I hope I didn't kill my first frag.

Please respond quickly I'm diing to know whats going to be the outcome.

Mostlikely, it would heal or divide into 2. If the tear is not clean cut, then it may take more time for it to heal. Also depended on your water quality, of course.

...Or you could put it in my tank for a week . By then it will have multiplied about thousand times and you could scoop 'em out by the bagfull.
