i had one tang fish die :cry: in my 120 soft and leather reef from ick.
so i removed all the rest of the fish to a quarantine tankthey are doing great no trace of ick. :P
my question is how long would it take my reef to be safe for fish,i mean is the ick dead in the reef after how long.

Ich can stay alive in one form for up to 72 days without a host. This was the longest ever recorded. The experts say 4-6 weeks should be plenty long to keep your reef fish free. All Ich will perish without a host in that time. The other fish in quarantine may be and probably are carrying the Ich parasite. What treatment did you give them in quarantine?

Also, higher temps can speed their life cycle. You can safely raise your tank temp to the mid 80'sF, which is where it should be at anyway if it's not already there.

my quarantine tank has a salinity of 1.017
and using only copper.
my reef temp. is at 82-84
