i was given a finger leather today by a friends dad, but i wont be heading back to gainesville until this saturday. i m wondering if the finger leather is hardy enough to survive 4 days in a make-shift tank/container. i have 9W of PC light on it with a 1lbs of LS its currently in a little cooler with an air pump to circulate the water. i m going to get some fresh SW tomorrow to replace the water it came in. can someone tell me or give me an idea on whether it will survive or not. i have read that they are hardy and require low-med lighting. thanks in advance.

Feather leathers (liekly either Sinularia, Sarcophyton, Lobophytum) should survive until Saturday. Going without light for several days isn't a big issue, but you should try to keep physical and chemical parameters steady. To accomplish the former, use a heater to maintain temp and keep an eye out on salinity (or at least top of evap to the same level each day). To keep chemical parameters in check, I recommend you buy extra fresh saltwater, and do 20-40% partial water changes every day. The rest of what you're doing is great; make sure the air pump is always on.

Obviously, the bigger volume of water you can keep it in temporaily, the better its chances. But I wholeheartedly believe it'll survive the few days.
