Hey Guys, I'm setting up a PFO duel 150w MH with two VHO super actinics over my 55G and was wondering how much of a jump I can expect in my monthly electricity bill...What can I expect to pay extra each month for running this monster?

Thanks in advance :D

Hi there. My electric bill here in CT is frequently in the $500-$700 range but I am running my central air (gotta these last few days) as well as 14 metal halide bulbs.

I don't think you'll have too much to worry about. I am quite interested to see where we stand after that cross sound cable is laid into place though.

o.k.-a one thousand watt bulb costs you between .10-.12 cents to run for one hour.take the fraction of one thousand that your lights, or anything else, is, and multiply the result by the cost-example:a 200 watt bulb, running for an hour is one fifth of a kilowatt hour=about 2-3 cents an hour.
:D *note-a hair dryer usually cost more to run than a reef tank, for the same time period.
