I have had a very aggressive but unfortunately beautiful and healthy lemon peel over a year in my tank- the LFS man told me he wasn't a nipper and he was truthful but I'm sure he was laughing out the other side of his face.

Longtime residents have been hounded gradually (unfortunately lost two year old clownfish one disappeared one had some sort of breathing problem but I sure that the stress was a factor)

New fish, neon goby, and several chromis have been chased back to the LFS.

The tank has had only him now for 4 months and although he is very beautiful and doesn't nip, I'm getting a little tired of not having any new critters.

Does he have to go back if I ever want to have another fish or can you suggest a match that might work?

For a small tank, try aggressive damsels such as the blue and domino. I also had a six-line wrasse that was quite a jerk.
