Earlier, I posted that one of my maroon clowns started eating tentacles off my new $200 rose anemone. Well, it kept eating. I was finally able to remove the rock with the anemone before it was completely gone. I am taking bets on whether it will survive in my other tank. (maroon clown free) Here is a picture.

Yes, that is horrible. A terrible loss. I hope it recovers for you ! I had never heard of that. Does that seem to be a "normal risk" with rose anemones and Marrons??

Rose Anemones are so awesome. Any pictures before it began to be eaten?

Good luck !

Sorry no "before" pictures, but imagine a healthy looking 6" diameter bright pink rose anemone. I have 2 maroon clowns in that tank - 1 large and 1 small. The small one tried to adapt the anemone as a host, but the large one would attack the anemone every few hours and take a few tentacles at a time and eat them. I will keep you updated on whether or not it survives.

Smart little clown if you ask me. What better to attack than an unsuspecting anemone. Even smarter would be an anemone that eats clowns! That would be one fat anemone!
