I have a 60 gallon reef tank with 6o pounds of live sand and about 80 pounds of live rock. The only filtration I am using is a ramora protien skimmer. I make weekly 5 gallon water changes. Should I be adding any filtration? if so what and why. If I shouldnt add any additional filtration why?

that may be the only man made 'filtration' device you are using, but it is, by no means the only filtration occuring in your tank.

your live rock, and sb are filters-of another sort.

whether or not you'll need to use additional methods(carbon, etc)depend on the developments in your tank-but usually, less is more

I wouldn't add any additional filtration if it were my tank. I like to run carbon and poly filter for 2 or 3 days once a month, but I would say that's optional.

Its a high grade type of carbon. I run carbon once every couple of months. The first few years though I ran it 24/7. I believe its the main reason I was able to fid myself of cyno. Now things are much different, but I still run it once in a while.
