I have a couple of Mushroom corals and other bits of live rock in my QT along with some sand that has been in there for a few months now. Its been there for so long because I've been trying to kiil off some Aiptasia that came with one of the rocks. I've been using Joes Juice. Each time I think I've got got them all, another one appears a week later.

I've decided to give up and not put these rocks into my ST as its about time I increase my tiny fish population so I need the QT. A couple of points -

1. I'd like to keep the QT with the Rock/Sand in it for a short while as I want to add some inverts and feel they survive better in a QT with sand/rock.

2. I thought this would also help when QTing fish as I think they would do better in a QT with rock/sand that's been running for a while. I know a bare tank is required for treatment but as I'm hoping to get a healthy fish not needing treatment, I feel safer this way. This is my first attempt at QTing fish.

Now my question is - Is there a chance of passing Aiptasia into the ST via water with the fish/inverts even if I don't move the rocks/sand across ? Or is it better to just clean out the QT and start again.

Thanks
-Peter
