hi all, has anyone ever heard of a reef devil 400? i purchased what was supposed to be a reef devil 400 on ebay. i was told it was an early model made about 2 years or so ago. the product i received has a rectangular acryylic base and it has 1 bio ball in the downdraft tube.the top injector assembly it made of pvc tubing and says lasco on it. there are no markings anywhere that indicates that it is a reef devil made by ae tech except on the back in scratched writing what looks to be done by a knife or nail it says a.e. tech reef devil 400. it was not proffesionally done. also the hole where the tube meets the base has jagged edges like it was cut by a jigsaw not professionally done by a reputable company, but done by a home diy'er .is there such a thing as a reef devil 400? any advice or info would be appreciated. thanks,

Don't let that put you off. I have an ETS 800 with chicken scratches in the acrylic proclaiming its model and issue number. "professionally done" just means that the vendor did it, and can't be verified one way or another. (These things aren't made by IBM, ya know!)

well, i emailed A.E. tech and they said hey have never made a reef devil 400 bu tthat it could possibly be a reef devil3 or rd#3 as they put it. I am emailing pics to them tommorow night and i will see what they say. The guy who i bought it from says he got thgis skimmer 2 years ago from some other guy on ebay so its possible that he got screwed as well and doesnt really know its not a reef devil 400. He seems honest enough but we shall see. oh and i paid $122.50 including shipping for it. i will update again on thursday. Thanks for the feedback people

IIRC the original reefdevil was also known as the RD40.

hi all, well i contact a.e. tech and sent them pics of the skimmer and thier designer gary said it wasnt a reef devil but the guy i go tit from insist that it is. he said he will refund my money if i send it to a.e. tech and have them look at it inperson . he oofered to give me back half my money and for me to keep the skimmer if will settle this now. i think imay do that .
