Orange Cucumber HELP

I have a orange spiny sea cucumber as identified in the picture at this web site:

I was told at the LFS that it would just sift the sand but it appears that is the furthest thing from the truth. I am worried that it will not get any food and want to know what I should do if anything special to feed it.

I think the one you have is filter feeding cucumber. How long have your tank setup? Whatelse do you have in it? Do you want to consider returning it to the LFS to exchange for another one that is sand sifter?

Yes as Dan said this appears to be a filter feeder, he will not clean your sand.

I dont think returning it to the pet store is an option at this point in time. I haven't looked at past posts yet but am planning to this evening. But if anyone has some good tips for care of filter feeders I would appreciate it.
