HI,
I have the chance to get a new protein skimmer. I have a 29 gallon FOWLR. My choices are a CPR backpack 2R, a prizm protein skimmer, or a biomatrics skimmer. I am leaning toward the biomatrics because it comes with a canister filter attached to it, but I have never heard of the brand. I don not know which one is better of the three. I have heard excellent reviews on the cpr and excellent on the prizm. Thanks
John

Have you considered the Remora or Remora Pro? It has a pretty good reputation as far as hang-ons go. Haven't used the 3 you mention so sorry I can't help you there.

I have the Prizm pro, and like it pretty well. However, I have seen mixed reviews on the regular prizm.

For your size tank the CPR would be great. The prizm pro would be overkill.

I have also seen mixed reviews on the remora.

Never heard of the other one

I have the remora pro from Aqua C on a 75, and it has performed as advertised. I would reccomend it highly for a HOT.

I am iusing the CPR Bakpak on my 46. I like it alot.

I had a Prism (Now in Trash) and I had hair algae breakouts covering most of the tank. Installed the BakPak and within 3 weeks the tank cleared up.

I will be moving the BakPak to my 15 nano in 2 weeks. I am upgrading my 46 to a 58 with a sump so Iwill be using a MyReef MR-1 skimmer.

Not sure about most of the models you mention.

I have a 45gallon reef system witgh a standard Prizm on it. A good budget skimmer and easy to clean/maintain. The only drawback with this skimmer is it is a little noisy.

The Berlin and the Prizm Pro would be overkill in my opinion.

You probably ended up removing the canister filter, depends on what you want to keep. I recommand BakPak or a Remova.
