Due to ice storm that hit us, we lost power for a little over 24 hours. Thought for sure I would come home to tanks of dead specimens. It was surprising to see most everything was doing OK. When I finally realized we had power again and got home, in my 55 all fish were still swimming around and the clams were still open.
The corals showed some displeasure, leathers droopy and SPS were not showing polyp extension (unfortunately the shrooms and GSP and other invasive species were none the worse for ware), but within a day, they all perked back up. I was amazed that a temp below 60 degrees (not sure how low it was since my thermostat for the tank doesn’t go below 60) wouldn't have killed more off. I did lose both of my BTA's (which had split 2 weeks ago), guess it was too much for them, and a clown in my 10g nano.
When I finally get my 180 in production, I think a generator (or 2) looks like a necessity. Guess I was lucky I didn't loose more.
