Garry,

Your tank looks great. Your supposed to be thick-skinned because people on these boards are so sensitive it is easy to get attacked. A good example of an oxymoron I guess. Anyway I would imagine your learning the rules of engagement by now. Try to post the articles. It's great to see the hobby flourishing in S.Wales. Try not to hog up all the good corals. We still like'em over here.

Awesome tanks GT. Congrates.

Do you know the country of origin of the moorish idol?
Reason I ask is I'm trying to figure if Sri Lanka moorish idol have better chances of success . . . . something like Red Sea Regal tang have a higher success rate in getting them to feed than the Indo & Philippines cousins.

Cheers

Awsome tank dude. mabe someday I will build me a house around a tank like that. Looks like you have lots of fans on that monster. Do you also run a chiller? How often do you have to dump that skimmer cup? Happy reefing, hope you don't get a leak.

empty cup every 3 days, when the tank was built it leaked , did not lose any livestock just a wet carpet and a very anoyed wife. a new tank was then built in its place by the company!and then at the end of may an osmolater failed and emptied over 90 gals over the carpet, SCENE2 a REALLY REALLY angry and upset wife? good ol house insurance! But since then no problems and thats the way i want it to stay. i change 90 gals every fortnight R/O instant ocean or kent or reef crystals! apart from that ,and changing floss every 3 days, kalkwasser making ect it looks after itself.the only heartache i have at the moment is my blue queen has started to nibble sarcophytons? she was totally safe for around 14 months but now getting very big,all the other angels safe ie: MAJESTIC,FIREBALL,FLAME,CORAL BEAUTY,BI~COLOR.

A fortnight is 2 weeks, I think.

GT, we would love to know the history of your set-up! Those seem to be large and established corals for something that one would normally see at a store.

Having a giggle here in snowy wales, getting the hang of you lot now! An osmolater is a water top up unit that replaces evap water with fresh straight into the sump.. a fortnight is 2 weeks , and there are 3 idols not plastic either. think, remember my tank and mags did'nt xist? as iv said the tank has only been running since april this year 02 but lots of the rock and stock came from my 7ft tank. All the softies in my tank are self sustaining, proped all of them. acropora.stylnopora, hydnopora also fragged, of which in the pics 20+ recent frags i put success down to daily iodide, strontium additions also magnesium chips in calcium reactor. levelsIE: iodine/iodide 10ppm stront 9ppm mg 1500 ppm kh 11.2 alk4+ salinity 1.024, temp 25.5 winter, 27 summer kept within +- .3 i really believe in stability in everything! Lighting 8am to 9pm with 1hr actinico3 after 8 before 9,,6 x150watt m/h 14000k's 1 x250watt6500k 2x 140 watt o3's 2x58watt o3's 4x 18watt night lights which gives me 634m2 watts squared GT s wales

Gary,

That tank's awesome! Talk about envy -- the 150 + 100 system I'm setting up now seems positively tiny. BTW, are those mags still on the newstands? If so, I'll look for them at the local B&N. The stores here in Boston carry a couple of the British fish mags.

Best regards,

Ken

Ken practical fish keeping is shipped around the world, i'm sure if you asked a few distribiters possibly they could help you. It really is a good monthly read i always get it , As for todays fishkeeper that mag although just as good , has only been running a year aprox.. as for my tank i have BIG plans especially the lighting, iwant to get another KW under the hood! when i'v got more shillings ?
