what are the chances of raising babies?
they lay pelagic eggs, no nest i believe.
if i put them in a seperate tank with nothing
to filter out the eggs or larvae, would they have
a decent chance of growing up?

I think there are some books out there that have info on aquaculture, you may want to look for one of these, but I will say that the biggest problem you will face is growing food for the fry. I used to work for a guy who had a pair of flame angels that would breed often. He owns a LFS in Maryland, if you want his number send me an email.
