Is there anything anyone is aware of in Florida? As far as I know there is only a yearly aquarium exebition witch is horrible at best ! A few LFS take a few cloudy tanks and try to sell you a bunch of crap you dont need. Saw a post about Utha's reef club meeting about coral propigation and thought to myself.... Doh, why Utah, why not Fla !! :)

I agree. I think the Florida Marine Aquarium Society meets once a month. But I don't believe there's a society focused on reefs.

FMAS - the Florida Marine Aquarium Society - meets the fourth tuesday of every month at 7:30 in the Museum of Science. It is actually one of the largest societies of its kind, and they have guest speakers every month on a variety of topics....so you don't have to envy Utah too much. I have never made it to any of their meetings because the time conflicts with my schedule, but I'm sure their meetings are better than their annual show, which I agree wasn't very good (plus meetings are free).

Here is their website:

we have an orlando reef club, if that is the kind of club you are enquiring about. people come to talk and trade and sell coral and equipment, really good turnout. only problem is it's a bit far from you. meetings are held the last saturday of each month around 7/8pm till whenever at a member's house.
