Whats effective for bubble algae control? I live in Jersey where the high Phosphate levels are constantly a battle, I have a phosphate sponge in the sump at all times, it helps the control, but obviously not enough. Is the bubble algae a symptom of this?
Any tank critters that enjoy eating it?
Many thanks

I just thought, that maybe I am misidentifying the stuff. It looks like small air bubbles on the walls of the tank, on the powerheads, on the overflow, rarely on the rock. They really are tiny. I can scrape them off, but they return.

Are these bubble clear like air bubbles.....might they be AIR bubbles. The only bubble alge I have heard/seen is the green bubble alge. Emerald Crabs (aka: mithrax crabs) are supposed to eat it, but MINE DONT!!!!

Also ....I live in NJ as well. I hope you are using a RO/DI unit. If you are you shouln't really have the phosphate problem that you speak of. If you aren't.... buy one from e-bay....they are pretty cheap for a good one.

If it's just air bubbles, your pump may be spewing out micro bubbles. You either may have leaks in plumbing, or your powerheads are too close to water surface.

If the bubbles are green or red/brown, you may have algae problem.
