How about Halogens? I have a small 250w halogen clip-on worklight that I can use a 100w, 150w, or 250w bulb... I know they run hot but if I can keep the tanks temp in check would that be a better alternative?

Reefguide, can you not find a 65W LOA, they are about as cheap a light as can be found. I bought one at Lowes and I know others say that Wall Mart sells them.

I justrealized why I couldn't find the 65w LOA... I did a google search for "65w Lights of America" and found a picture on Rich Durso's site ! :) (Thanks Rich!) Didn't know it was a work light, I thought it was an exterior light. I was looking in the wrong place at HD... Will pick it up today. Exterior lights were only 60w and I wanted to buy the exact light ppl have had succcess with. Wasn't sure if the spectrum was the same on the 60w, so I never bought it.

Does micro bubble cause Red Slime or cause problems with caulerpa? I have quite a few bubbles roaming my fuge and accumilating larger bubble on the caulerpa. I hope this light will work out, I tired of beating the slime off the caulerpa and scoping it up !
