Ok Guys

here the deal. And before we get started yes I know you don't need a Skimmer you can just do water changes but this is sokthing I wanted to try. OK that being said. I have used so far a 2 inch clear tube , it has a bottom stand and fits alway to the bottom. I have drilled alot of holes in the bottom so the water will be pulled in for the current I have a air stone and pump for the current and air feed. What I can not figure out is how to make a cup for it. And Also do I need to cut a water flow exit for one that small or will it just keep over flowing . Anyone done this before if you have any advice

Sounds like you built a lee's in tank skimmer?

I used one on my 10g, worked very well, slow flow CC really do work will provided not overtaxed.

I then modifed it, by cutting new intake holes, and chopping the output line down to about 1/2 hight, then I stuffed it into a wisper filter.

water ran about 50 % hight, so I used a big 3" airstone cranked to the max, sucker worked better than it did with the stock setup. The wisper was also modified so it pulled from the water surface, I dont like that scum that gets built up on non surface skimmed tanks..

I have a similar setup for a skimmer in my 10g, but I have put it in an Aquaclear mini hanging off the back. This way none of my precious tank space is taken up.
