How many times are you cleaning the glass.

well, what's expensive? i thought the one i bought was expensive at $19.95. what's worse is i've only had the thing since february. :roll:

I am sure mine was well over $100 CDN by the time I got it to my door....
(Magnavore). I haven't ever looked back (well except to order replacement pads). I then ordered a second one for the smaller tanks.
They are awesome.

I bought a few of those cheapos, and they were garbaged. Just not worth it.

I have a $12 magnet scraper, but I haven't cleaned my glass since April. (The last time I had any visible algae on my tank.) Not counting my razor and grape caleurpa which is a forest in my tank now. Also some valonia bubbles and halimeda which all combined are probably taking all the nutrients from my tank. Turbo and Stomatella snails are eating the rest.

WOW i was away and recently came back I was floored by all the feed back. As a result I broke down and bought a magnet cleaner !! I would like to add that I have kept my photo period @ 11 hrs. and will just clean the glass every other day which is about the time I get a film.

This is bad, but I haven't cleaned the glass since January.

The tank is in the basement and I've been busy and burnt out so I just look in through the top.. Everything is thriving, but you can't see through the glass through the coralline and algae.

I clean my glass once a week while doing my water change. The best magnet cleaner I have found is the Mag-Float. I also have had good luck with the Kent scrappers, especially the ones with the long extensions.
