Sometimes I touch the tubes with my wet hands or arms accidently or splash a little water on them. So far none have shattered. I'm I just lucky or are they fairly resilent to this???
thanks

At the shop I regularly soak the NO tubes on the fish systems when catching/removing and have only been shocked a few times, no bulb explosions though, these things are pretty durable. Halides are a different story, i wouldn't go touching those with wet hands (not that i'd want to do it w/ dry hands either :D )

I never had any problems with fluorescents ever.

Today I found this, but thankfully, my new bulbs had arrived....I am actually surprised it never happened sooner. It didn't fall apart until we went to change it.

Could never put covers on the tank, the heat would be too great to deal with.
