tank has only been set up 9 months
some corals are from old tank
sps are nealey all grow from frags

lights are 2x 400w 10k blv 2x400w 20k blv 2x58w t5 6500k
sumps are located in shed 5 all linked together
skimmer stirrer reactor all in shed

dont use additives only stirrer and reactor
approx 20 fish dont see some for weeks then thay turn up again
only do water changes when i sill it which is quite alot lately

Man that looks great. Do you have any overheat problems with the much wattage?

Does your kalk reactor make all the calcium, or do you find you have to supplement calcium to keep up with demand?

What temp is your system?

Do you run a skimmer, a refugium, or just sump?

dont have any probs with over heating
shed is 20 feet away pipes go under house have more trouble keeping it warm 25.6 at mo
run refugium skimmer sump all can be removed if needed
just use reactor and stirrer no supplements will need to add second reactor soon one i have is flat out to keep calcium up
will be adding another 100gal sump soon

I'd love to see a few pics of the filter system and plumbing. I too have a remote 80 gallon sump/refugium/skimmer.

I built my own nielsen reactor. It's about 6 feet tall, uses a powerhead to stir the kalk, and an electric float switch drives a T1 titanium pump that adds RO/DI into the reactor and keeps things pressurized.

I am curious, since kalk is so good an improving skimmer efficiency, has your water become too clean for some of the DOC demanding corals?

I have a 90 gallon softie/shroom/polyp tank, and a 110 SPS tank.
