Hi,
I have a really crappy Ps-100 Visijet skimmer that I am soon to replace. Before that time I want to get the most out of the skimmer before its demise. So I have modified it a little. I put a wooden airstone at the bottom of the skimmer and put a very powerful air pump on the tube. Then I increased the flow. The problem with this is that whenever I increase the flow the water level goes up and it starts to skim water into the overflow collectioin cup. My idea is that I cut the intake in a manner that is shoots a little diagonally toward the bottom causing more co current force to the bubbles and not raising the water level. Would this work 'or would it still raise the water level. Also I could cut the intake so it shoots the water in to the side of the skimmer causing a vortex action. Would all of this increase the contact time among the bubbles. Thanks
John
