Hi all,

While looking everywhere I see lighting is so expensive! From my job with a very large company I can order most anything from anyone. Usually items I ordered are much less than ordering online for my customers. I need your help.

I need help on what manufacturers to ask prices from and what items to ask for. I am sonewhat clueless as to the lighting issue other than std flourescents. Please tell me Name, Item Description & Details of what to ask for, I prefer to check first with the big boys light GE, Sylvania, Cooper etc etc but will try anybody since it costs me nothing to ask. In exchange for this info I will be happy to post findings with you and see if it we find any deals that you can order from one of our stores in your area.

Thanks
Scott

BTW is a Metal Halide Medium Base Bulb 13600 Lumens from GE m57 Ballast 175watts for $23 anything for a reef tank?

your query on lighting cannot have a bad answer when you fail to describe what type of aquarium you wish to keep. i see reef tank at the bottom of your post. i assume you are new to the hobby. if so i applaud you for your quest for knowledge prior to purchase.
you need to decide if you wish to keep hermatypic or ahermatypic corals or no corals at all. you also should brush up on what biotope you plan on creating or if that is even a goal of yours. most importantly you need to find a beginning reef manual of some kind (there are a multitude of them), and soak up as much info as you can. then come back and these fine members here will dispell any bogus info you may have consumed.

BTW your proposed mh bulbs are not prime candidates for your future reef.
