I picked up a S. Haddoni (sp?) carpet. It is light green with biege striping. I put the anemone in the left front corner of my 75. It is under 2 400 watt mh and 3 110 watt VHO. I got this anemone for my mated saddleback clowns. I have tried feeding it krill wiht no success although it is sticky. What foods work good for this anemone? I also have a few serpant stars in this tank are they safe? Also should the foot be buried in the sand or should I allow it to do what it wants. It hasnt moved since I put it in two days ago bt last night my clown was swimming in it and flipped it upside down. Otherwise it seems healthy I can post a picture if you'd like.
TIA, Ben.

My understanding is that Haddonis prefer to feed on fish. I feed mine silversides most of the time and it is threatening to take over the tank.

They also prefer to anchor their foot in the rocks. They tend to move around on their own until they are comfortable. The good news is, once mine anchored it has never moved since.

Silversides. And it will find a spot where it is happy all by itself.

Survival record for carpet anemones in general is poor, but the S. haddoni is the best of that genera, and you seem to have appropriate lighting.

I agree with the silversides, mine seems to love them. It was in one place anchored to rock for about the first 6mos (in the middle of the tank)i had it then it decided to take a walk about and has been anchered to the bottom glass through 4" of sand for about a year now. where it is now is a lower flow than the other places it tried, not low flow but more like medium. it's grown about 4-6 inches since i had it and is definatly the "owner" of the tank :) My gold stripe maroon took a liking to it right away, never really thought it would but hey what ever works huh :)

["munchieiam"]I agree with the silversides, mine seems to love them.

I agree. The ilversides are doing it for me. My BTA's didn't seem to like the Krill, or even the Myosis shrim too much. Now, I am feeding them 3-4 Silversides almost daily. Thats probably a bit too much, but I figure I owe them since I've been neglecting them...

Plus, they just split a while ago, so they's just growing, and growing things needs foods... my preciouses......[/quote]
