What exactly is a DSB?

When you guys/girls are referring to DSB's, what exactly are you talking about. I understand that a true dynamic sand bed would be a bed which has water flowing through it. (ie pipes on the bottem spewing out water, egg crate over the pipes, screen over the egg crate and several inches of sand on top) Is this the type of setup that people are talking about, or are we calling a bunch of sand on the bottem of the tank, under the rocks, a DSB?

just a bunch of sand. Approximately 4 inches.

Deep sand bed. Sugar fine aragonite (or silica based) sand of at least 4"+.

Thank you folks - I guess that my interpretation of abbreviations is just poor. I thought that the "D" stood for dynamic.
