Well after having a tank for so long, i just can't keep up with it as much as i would like to,so I've decided to go with a fish less tank. i love my fish but I'm having trouble keeping up with it. so i will be trying to catch as many of my fish as possible. I will not post my fish for sale until i have caught them. Just having a tank without fish will make it a little easier on feeding and also will be able to keep down my phos without haven't to feed. I have a 6 and 2 years old that are really taking up a lot of my time and honestly i feel the tank is taking away from there quality time. It makes me feel like I'm not a good daddy. I will not downgrade as i love my 180sps dominate tank. A down grade for me will result in me getting out of the hobby.. There are many people out there that have greater responsibility out there then i Like more kids and much more on their plate then i do and are able to juggle there chores around. as for me, between my commute and the kids and the tank and trying to spend quality time with my wife and kids has really taking a toll on me and I'm hoping i can find a way to make it all work.

Good luck to me. :sigh:

I don't think you'll have to go that extreme, get rid of your tangs and any other larger fish first. You don't have to feed the tank if you have 3-5 smaller fish like wrasses.

I visited someone's 75 gallon tank today, he has maybe 8 small fishes with great growth under T5 lighting.

Just get small fish. that's what I did. I took out the tangs and triggers, kept one large damsel. I have a CBB, flame, small black goby, mandarin, ocilaris, and the damsel. you can also get fish that eat off the reef, so you are not throwing extra food in the tank, ie the mandarins.
I like having smaller fish, it helps keep the water clean, and it's to scale with the tank.

Dave, you really will knock off some maintenance. I agree with Rich too... you are going to grow even faster than you already are. There is no bigger NO3/PO4 factories in our tanks than the fish.
I know it's tough, but I think it's a great move for you.
Post growth pics:)
