I have a Copperband in my tank. I've only had it for a few weeks, but so far its been a model citizen. I have various SPS, LPS, and Leathers...it doesn't even look at them. I will occasionally see it picking at the rocks...I'm assuming its looking for pods. I've heard of people keeping CB in their reefs...the issue with them tends to be getting them to eat. Mine still won't touch flake or even Ocean Nutrition Cubes (Formula 1, 2 and Prime Reef) but it loves frozen brine shrimp. I've also started feeding it scallops which it loves. I had been looking for one in our area for a while, but nobody seemed to have them. I ended up picking mine up at Skiptons in Boston.

By the way, if you decide to prune your Xenia-Let me know

Here is a pic of mine:

Well if you want any of my xenia, swing on by and you can have as much as you want. Most of it is already attached to rocks, so if you want to take the rocks too, I'd like replacement rock or frags.

i had a copper band and all he would eat were feather dusters, he eventually died once the dusters were gone as he would eat nothing else.

Marc,

I have always had a Copperband in my tank and I have never had any problems. They are one of my favorite fish; sometimes they are a little hard to feed right, if that happens to you make sure to feed a wide variety of foods until you find what he/she likes.

Mine is almost 18 months old now.

Good luck,

Eddi

I've had good luck with a longnose butterfly in my 75. I have only soft corals, but he's never shown interest in any of them. They will pick pods and mini feather dusters off the live rock. Otherwise, he eats everything I offer - mysis shrimp, frozen brine, Formula One, and Omega flakes. I have a flame angel too, and they get along fine.
