Hi all,

After reading up on how to get rid of aiptasia, I found that most sites suggested using chemicals or even dry out the rock. I have tried boiling it which got rid of the thing in seconds flat.

Using a syringe, put boiling water directly onto the aiptasia - problem solved!

Just thought I'd share.

I've had my tank for 3 months now, and have noticed the aiptasia and have not done anything about it yet(actually thought it looked kinda cool). Is it something I should try to treat right away? (Either pulling them out, or using the hot water...)

I had a bunch in the beginning. I killed all but one. It is about a year old now. No others have ever appeared, so I let it live. It is about 2-1/2" across now.

He is starting to look a bit menacing, may be getting close to an execution!

I have only 6 weeks experience just so you know. But I have read in mutliple books (3) and heard from 2 LFS along with this Disscussion board. All agree aptasia is bad. It stings fish and coral(which can't run away). I have had about a 80% kill rate with hot water with a medical syrincge.

Good luck.
Kill them all, let God sort it out.
