Sounds awesome to me. But all I do to have moonlight is just use a blue incadesnt light and paint it black with a few openings for light and itr works great.

I've got that moonlight that you posted a link to. Pretty damn cool. Glitter lines at night, and the life span of the LED is 20,000 hours.

I am using a 25W GE blue "party light" over my tank. I added it about a month ago. It is controlled by ElightMaster and is cool as hell.

Gitter lines, moon rise and moon that varies according to the actual moon cycle in my zipcode.

I think it might be a tad bright. Maybe I'll cover part of it with a black magic marker.

I have not noticed any difference in my animals in this short period of time. I like it though!

Mitch, have you noticed any differences after using the moonlight?

Honestly, no. But I don't really know what to watch for either.
I can't imagine being a fish and trying to maintain a safe place to rest in the random currents of a reef tank in complete darkness. Surely they get bumped against the rocks, and that HAS to contribute to stress levels.

As far as the corals go, I would be happier if I could simulate different phases of the moon, which I don't believe you can do with this moonlight.

I have a 25W "Party Light" hooked up and controlled with my AquaController that adjusts the brightness for phases of the moon as well as duration. It looks really cool, but does seem a tad bright--it doesn't cover my whole tank which I like now, so there is some complete darkness also. I also have a red light hooked up for viewing at night--I was shocked when I first saw how much different life comes out at night.

I use a blue outdoor 12' strip light from walmart. Its $7 and comes with all the mounting hardware needed to tack it around the inside of the hood. I leave it on 24/7. It doesn't add heat like an incadesnt and is completly weather and salt proof.

I went to the local reptile store and purchased a "rare earth phosphorus coated" incandescent moonlight lamp. its shaped like a tube. gives off a very cool moonlight effect that I think duplicates the moonlight great! I got the 40 watt bulb for a 50 gallon cube. I then run this off the eLightMaster program. :)
