Howdy Reefkeeping types,

Well a month ago I tore down all my reefs as my skin allergy to the coral became so bothersome, it wasn't worth it anymore. The collection made it's way to the Cleveland Zoo and will hopefully make it out on exhibit in the near future (they're slowing compiling reef exhibits, but this put them right over the edge) so lots of people can also enjoy the animals that I had the good fortune to keep.

What made me think "Hey! I should stop by the ol' stompin' grounds" was an email I just recieved from my wife:

"You're not going to believe this!! I just called and our electric bill is $89.04 this month!!! We haven't had a bill this low since our first year of marriage and we only had the 10 gallon tank! She didn't say, but I assume it hasn't gotten to us in the mail yet because they are sending someone else out to double check it. Remember... they did that when we first brought home the halides from the store and I had to call then, because they thought our meter was broken."

Hey Todd, glad to see you post again! The Acropora sp. and M.digita frags I got from you prior to taking everything to Nick @ the Cleveland Zoo are kickin' it in their new home.

BTW....still working on trying to get Nick to commit to a #reefs talk.

LOL, My wife just noticed that our electric bill was still pretty high and the summer is pretty much over.

Shane: I went collecting with Nick last weekend. He said to tell you "I'm not blowing him off... I've just been super busy." So hopefully he'll come around soon and give a talk

Anemone: Benadryl? More like heavy duty cortisone with gold bond during the day, smeared in triple antibiotic with bandaids at night. I wish there could have been a pill

A=B: That's the highest compliment, thanks! I'll also add that every coral you're looking at besides the trachy were grown from fragments. It was just starting to get good and then I'd had enough. Kinda sad really to have the patience just to shuck it just as it's looking how it should. Oh well, I enjoyed the experience

Good luck with your future ventures. I'm sure once you recover from the financial drain you will look back at where you were and how much you were spending and you will say, "Dang. Let's start a new reef!"
