I saw one the other day, and I can't get it out of my mind.
72Bow AGA
(4) VHO bulbs

I've got toadstools, finger leathers, cabbage leathers, Xenia  ,
Hammer, Frogspawn, Mushrooms, and Galaxia.
Are closed brains aggressive?
Do they like strong or weak current?

Any other help would be appreciated.

The Favite Corals are aggressive, expanding their sweeper tentacles at night well beyond the base. It is important to leave space between them and neighbors in the reef aquarium.
Thanks for the links.
They said the same thing about my galaxia coral but I haven't seen sweepers in 1-1/2 years. So I putting out the question out,
How aggressive is it?

well, I got it.
I couldn't risk it lasting through "Salty Saturday" where all marine is 10% off.
It's a wonderfull metallic green with burgandy accents.
If only I had bought a camera instead of the coral, then I could take a picture of it in the store.

Now, back to the question. Who knows how aggressive these things are?

Well unless you actually know what it is that you want, it's pretty hard to help you out with the aggressiveness of the coral.
If it's a Oulophyllia (closed brain coral) then it is not very aggressive (on a scale of ten, it's a 4)
Maybe you can find the name of it and then we can try to help you more.

It's a Goniastrea.
I haven't seen any sweeper yet.
I'm crossing my fingers

Why? how close is it to your other corals?

Okay, Goniastrea likes medium to high light, med to high water flow, is not very aggressive ( 4 out of a 10) and is a little more then medium hardy.
good luck with it

Hi LFS42 is this the coral you are talking about. I have this one for about three years and i dont now if it is agressive, so i keep space between it and the other corals. Ralphyhp.

Thanks,
Yes it's pretty close to the pic.
The top of the ridges are the same green as the bottom, with the same red inbetween.
So far it's between a frogspawn and a hammer.
Thanks for the help, that was the info I was looking for.

I have the one in the pic. I thought it was called maze brain though. I've never seen sweepers. It's kept right next to an open brain, T. geoffroyi (sp?).

If that's what you have I thought they were Platygyra sp. I have one in my tank doing ok. I am most worried it's not getting rnough food since I only see very small feeders let at night. I spot feed my Trachyphyllia about 2-3 times a week with tiny pieces of mussel or squid but havent figured out the right size food or feeding schedule on this one. Also I used to have him on the sandbed but I think Borneman menrioned something about not keeping them there so have moved him up to a flat space in my rockwork with modest flow. Let me know how yours fares, mine has actually had some growth despite not seeing it eat any macro food.
