I just ordered 4 medium size clowns from marinedepot and placed 2 in each of my reef tanks. The tanks are very stable and other fish are thriving. None of the clowns has shown any interest in frozen brine, flake food, or small chopped shrimp in 24 hours since they arrived. Otherwise, they appear to be very healthy. I am sure they are wild caught but was wondering if its normal for them to take this long to feed and when do I start to worry. Also, what do wild caught clowns normally accept for food and can they be acclimated to flake food?

No more wild caught for me!

I have had percula clowns and now have 2 Clarks clowns and they both ate flake food. The newest Clark clown that I got a month ago didn't really eat for about three days. When he did start eating, he ate the frozen food first, like prime reef. I am sure they will be fine.

some local fish stores sell live brine shrimp, might want to try that first. but don't be worried quite yet, after 3 days, then you might worry, the clowns still have to get use to their surroundings first then the interest in food will come. could also try zooplankton or mysis.
good luck, keep us posted.
