What kind of food do you feed your Hermit Crab? I have a orange & black legged Hermit that came with my live rock. So far he has been seeming to eat off the rock, but wondering what you think is a good food for them.

Hermit crabs are scarvengers and eats anything left uneaten by others.
So when you feed your fish, smaller food pieces drifting on the gravel will get eaten. Your HC probaly belongs to the smallish type which would not grow a lot, so regular fish food will surfice.

There will be periods where they will abstain from all food. Don't panic as its an indication they are about to molt. Make sure you have bigger shells around for it to fit into as they grow.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. I don't have any fish yet. I just got my live rock about a week ago so I won't have any fish for a few weeks to a month or so. Will it be ok until then or should I throw something in there for him?

Some hermits eat algae as well as missed food. I think the live rock has some stuff that the hermit can pick through, but a little pinch of fish food released underwater every few days couldn't hurt...
