Sea-Swirl right under lights?

I'm thinking of getting a Sea-Swirl on my 40 gal. My problem is that part of it (half of it, really) would rest about an inch directly below PC lighting. Does anyone have any experience with this arrangement, and whether the Sea-Swirl can withstand the heat?

Tim, mine are about 1" below one of the VHO bulbs for about 1.5 years, no problems.

Mine is about 2" below my 55w pc actinics for a year now with no problem...

They will melt under MH lighting though. A guy here melted some pretty bad about 3" from a 400W MH bulb.
